Gamma Phi
2008-2009 Chapter Strategic Plan
Mission Statement: The mission of the Gamma Phi Chapter of Sigma Chi is to become and remain the pre-eminent fraternity on campus; always balancing academics, brotherhood, social, recruitment and our ritualistic obligations.
Goal 1: Win a Peterson Significant Chapter award.
Key Officer: Consul, Peterson Chair
Action Steps:
1. Elect and actively monitor the progress of a Peterson Chair who will be responsible for the activities of each individual contributor to the award.
Who – Consul
2. Make sure that all officers are aware of their obligation to the Peterson award.
Who – Pro Consul
3. Keep accurate records, collect materials and take notes on activities throughout the year to make the process streamlined and easy when it comes time to put the application together.
Who - Peterson Chair
4. Build off of last year's application: Make sure to use the strengths of the application and turn areas of weakness into strengths.
Who - Consul, Peterson Chair
Goal 2: Improve individual officer contribution.
An organization is only as great as the sum of its parts.
Key Officer: Pro Consul
Action Steps:
1. Post and distribute by-laws regarding positions to all members. Remind officers of their responsibility both in by-laws and in ritual.
Who – Pro Consul
2. Hold an executive committee retreat to discuss the goals and aspirations of all officers, as well as concerns and what is expected of them in regards to pushing the chapter forward.
Who – Consul
3. Have all officers meet regularly with Pro Consul to discuss progress towards goals made at officer retreat. Hold officers accountable to goals discussed by chapter and executive committee. Reaffirm the benefit to the entire chapter of being succesful and productive officers.
Who – Pro Consul, Consul
Goal 3: Successfully recruit a quality pledge class in the Spring with deferred recruitment.
Key Officer: Recruitment Chairs
Action Steps:
1. Plan and organize events which will cater to and attract freshmen to the house/fraternity starting in the fall semester working until the spring semester.
Who – Recruitment Chair
2. Publicize Sigma Chi in a positive manner through involvement in campus activities as well as IFC events.
Who – Recruitment Chair, Chapter Members
3. Actively involve the entire chapter in recruitment, including raising brother participation, utilizing the tools of mission 365 and putting the responsibility of bringing in men of high standards on the shoulders of the entire chapter.
