The Gamma Omega Chapter of Sigma Chi
Strategic Plan
2008-2009
Vision: To ensure the continued growth and strength of the next generatino of Sigma Chi at the Gamma Omega Chapter with continued campus involvement, improved Greek life relations, the promotion of brotherhood and the ritualistic statutes, and the recruitment of men whose character reflects these.

Chapter Goals:

1) Promote brotherhood to maintain the current rise and assertiveness of the chapter.
Action plan:
a) Plan brotherhood retreats, recreational or otherwise, that remind each other of the strength of friendhsip and the bonds we share (try for at least 1 per semester)
b) Strive to exercise ritualistic chapter at every available occasion, ideally every week - to remind each other of those vows and to reflect upon them daily.
c) Maintain the strength of our Initiation ceremony for encouragement of continued alumnus support.
d) Encourage new ideeas, committees, and events to be formed if a brother shows interest and commitment.
i. Toward this end, identify those brothers who seemt o be falling toward apathy and encourage them to take on roles and responsibilities for the chapter
2) The steady recruitment of quality men who reflect our lofty ideals.
Action Plan:
a) Consistent events during the year which are appealing to a range of person.
i. Ideally something new each semester, and once again not necessarily during formal rush.
b) Daily recruitment of individuals both in and out of school sessions.
i. Brothers identifying friends and acquaintances who may be interested in Greek life and reflect our code. ii. The utilization of wide communication systems, such as Facebook, to recruit before semesters.
1. Continued and improved spreadsheet use for potential recruits- photos, interview, and any additional information that can eb used to help make the decision for acceptance to Gamma Omega.
iii. The encouragement of brothers for advocating the Freek system as a whole for the community to better understand our aspirations.
c) Pomote recruitment-365 as a priority for all brothers.

3) Prepare the future leaders for the Gamma Omega Chapter.
Action Plan:
a) Utilize pledging to infer the specific responsibilities of officers, to be delegated by those officers themselves to remind both parties. b) Prepare a more inclusive P.I.T. program that allows newly initiated brothers to begin contributing to the chapter - including ritualistic requirements, decorum at chapter meetings, early memorization of the charge, and hwo to encopass those in daily life. c) Current Officers identifying with younger brothers who have expressed interest in the position - provide them opportunities to assist in those duties to better train and hopefully create overall chapter interest in leadership d) At end of term, have each officer train and assist in the transition. Create a list of important items and events to plan early and effectively, review what issues arose durign that officer's term and how to best deal with those situations.

4) Improve campus involvement and Greek community relations.
Action Plan:
a) Encourage brothers to continue taking active roles on campus through organizations.
i. IFC - at least 2 brothers and Consul
ii. GAMMA - at least 1 brother
iii. Homecoming, Greek Week, Huskython
b) Hold new philanthropic events, not including Derby Days. c) Hold an improved and well received Derby Days from our successful return to this event last year.
i. Early communication with Greek organizations ii. Advocating the Huntsman Institute's cause and encouraging the campus at large for involvement. iii. Promoting and seeking sponsorship from larger vendors and local businesses. iv. Using continued and rising sorority support.
d) Organization of community service projects both on and off campus. e) Encourage the chapter to volunteer at University functions - Greek and non-Greek alike. f) Wear the letters of Sigma Chi proudly and frequently, never staining the purity of the white cross.
