2007-08 Chapter Strategic Plan Sigma Chi – Delta Rho
2008-2009 Strategic Plan
One of the greatest strengths of our chapter is the ease and efficiency with which we can approach the business and operations side of our chapter. Our executive committee work very closely with our entire membership to ensure that goals and issues are addressed and resolved with our members and our values in mind. It is with such strength in one area that we are able to address one of our main weaknesses in a streamlined, expedited process.
While we have yet to encounter a problem with associate member retention, a number within our membership have become dissatisfied with some of the recruitment strategies our chapter has recently employed. Some of these strategies have led to the recruitment and initiation of members not necessarily deemed adequate when judged by the benchmark of the Jordan Standard. Our current vision process is to enhance the values-based recruitment every chapter should practice and continue to keep our high percentage of associate member retention.
A number of resources that can help with recruitment have been underutilized up to this point by our chapters. Even with our proximity to HQ, our chapter has yet to take advantage of the Mission 365 program offered by the HQ staff. We must come to recognize that recruitment has to become a process that is ongoing throughout the year. Also, it is important that we reach out to our alumni in hopes that they may be willing to help with our recruitment either through rush recommendations, speeches during recruitment, etc. Even after taking full advantage of all resources at our disposal, there is still the necessity to engage and motivate each of our brothers to practice the strategies and methods they have been taught.
Recruitment is possibly the most important aspect of our fraternity that requires the full dedication of our entire membership. Recruitment is most oftentimes the ruler by which each chapter can be judged through both quality and quantity of associate members they retain. It is also one of the few ways chapters can judge the potential successes or failures in their future. We must be willing to utilize our resources both outside and inside the walls of our chapter house in order to most effectively recruit a class of young man that will ensure the success of our chapter and our fraternity-at-large for years to come.
